Sonio Otto celebrates a coming of age with 18 years in fashion in 2008 with an approach that combines classic customer service with a signature style, to create some of Australia’s leading lifestyle fashion designs.

A finalist in the 2007 NRA Fashion Awards, Otto has proved her longevity in an industry that loves the latest new thing, by remaining fresh with a focus on designing for women, not
catwalks.

“I see my role as dressing women to bring out their beauty,” Sonia explains of her designing philosophy.

“This means making every woman feel special, regardless of the occasion.”

It’s an attitude that stems from Otto’s couture background and one which is behind her continued passion for creating exclusive couture pieces and made-to-measure designs, while ensuring her BLISS label responds to customers by giving them what they want – choice.

“To me fashion freedom is what it is all about, and after all freedom is BLISS,” Sonia says.

With her eyes ever on the customer, she has perhaps not surprisingly enjoyed spectacular success on award catwalks.

As she established herself as a fashion icon in Southeast Queensland, Otto took out 22 fashion and business awards before taking a well-earned break from the awards scene.

In her re-entry on the national stage last year, her stunning silver Taj Mahal collection sparkled its way into one of just four final spots, in a hotly contested field of 40 entries in the Lifestyle Category.

From iconic couture creations to funky and frivolous, BLISS celebrates a woman’s right to express herself just the way she wants to - crossing couture culture with club wear, adding pace to race wear and making la femme la flirt.

Sonia Otto Couture showcases a sophisticated range of racewear and an exquisite collection of evening showstoppers – she does glamour in glittering gowns and filmy frocks like no other, in designs that give an edge to elegance.

Well-known in the earlier days of her career for stylish suiting, Sonia has recently reintroduced corporate with a difference, with couture collections that cut through the boring black of the boardroom.

“Why be a corporate clone when you can be a corporate diva,” Sonia says.

Sonia celebrates her Italian background in her use of beautiful Italian fabrics, often embellished with intricate beading.

As she has matured as a designer and person, the trademark has become a look that she calls ‘anti-ageing’.

“I am well known for my anti-aging denim, teamed with an eclectic collection of one-off tops, including beautifully beaded floating silk tabards.”

A firm favourite in Fashions on the Field, Sonia’s racewear creations have put many a stylish punter into the winner’s circle.

Retailing from her Broadbeach Fashion Emporium on the Gold Coast, Sonia is pleased to be in the heart of one of Australia’s leading lifestyle fashion districts, and delivering the level of service and quality that comes from being passionate about every stage of the fashion process.
